Understanding the Meditation Practice
In this series of classes we will receive commentary and guided meditations from the text “The New Meditation Handbook“ and“Transform Your Life”, The Path of Compassion and Wisdom. We will study this profound and beautiful presentation of Buddha’s “Stages of the Path to Enlightenment” written by the 11th Century Buddhist Master Atisha.
Explore through Meditation, Commentary and Discussion the Method to Create an Inner Space and Stillness that Enables us to Control our Mind Regardless of External Circumstances.

General Program Format
Each class is two hours long and is broken down into several sections. We start with an introduction to the topic to be covered. We then still our minds with a guided 10 minute breathing meditation. It is followed by a 50 minute commentary on the actual meditation practice, then 15 minute guided meditation on the topic that was covered, a 15 minute intra-class discussion and closing with 15 minutes for questions and answers. Each class is self-contained and can be enjoyed on a drop-in basis. See here for more details. No registration is required. $12 per class, no one is turned away.
